Yep, was fun for a beating people with bare hands. It actually got me thinking that Anet could introduce an all round martial arts expert.

I'd like to see a full array of kicks, blocks, head butt and punch combos.

Y'know, instead of posting how to do it so EVERYONE uses it, you could've left it quiet and just reported it to ANet? Or if you already have, why even post it so EVERYONE knows...?

Josh: To make sure Anet knows, and so others dont have an 'advantage'. I dont find it unfair to use the bug though - What difference does it make if i can't see if the warrior is using a Sword or an Axe? It's not like we some Anti-Axe or Sword skills, just Anti-Melee.

Knowledge is power. Also, reading comprehension is power.

Wheel and Slooty could have very well kept quiet about this and abused it themselves, and it would take longer for Anet to find out and fix this. If as Roo noted it's been around for much longer, who has been abusing it before this? Until this is fixed everyone is on equal terms.

This particular bug can only be abused in one certain situation, that of Edenial and focus swapping. If that's not involved then it doesn't really affect you other than the shock/coolness value.

Some fellow guildies and I are on an ettin-slapping spree outside Beetletun right now.

Just thought I'd blurt that out.

It seems that, in our party of five, even though we have all done it, for each one of us after a while we only see ourselves and one other in the party as having invisible weapons. The others appear to be back to normal, but for different people's views it is different.

Great bug.

Don't see how you can explot this after all.

1. Its takes time to do it and you have to do it right in front of you oppenents.
2. You can still see what weapon thier using by how their behaving and what skills they use.

IW mesmer: He He they'll never guess I'm a IW mesmer *Uses IW*
Warrior: Hmmm that mesmer just used IW
Nerco/Mesmer: I'll get him with Drain enchantment
IW mesmer: he he... what the HEY who took off IW.

3. Most people in RA don't really pay attension to weapons anyway.

Monk/Warrior 1: I'm a smite attack warrior HA HA
Monk/Mesmer: Boon Prot here
Ememy Warrior: Hey that monk is running out LETS GET IT!!

So I don't see whats the big deal. As Savio said only in that situation can it be expoited

It takes away the ability to see if a monk is on their negative energy set or not. It means that it's harder to effectively edeny a target at the top levels of play.

Causing the masses to use a bug will prompt ANet to fix it faster, which is good, right?

Well you can create the same effect by using identical wands and focuses.

But ya its a tiny little edge.

However before this I didn't know if you were an E-Denail mesmer yiou had to watch out for the negitive energy set. So I feel like a bit of a noob now.

Yup, just tested this out, works just fine. I don't really know how many practical application this will have other than hiding your energy set. (You will have to do it in front of the memser) but it certainly is cool.

My favoirite part is seeing all the weapon animation going off at once...that's just awsome.

EDIT:
It would seem that this will work only for some class on a epcific emote and not others. I just tested it with my male necro and it was impossible to get it to work with /dance emote since the male necro dance with their weapons shown. You would need an emote that hide your weapons to get this to work.

Me and my guildmates went on an ettin-punching run a while ago. Not only did we seem to get more pauldrons than usual, but it was ever so fun! I hope this glitch is around to stay...

One problem with the quote Burai....the part in brackets. Since this bug does not grant the user unnatural or unintended benefits then it doesn't fall under rule 18 of the Rules of Conduct. Untill its fix it will be fun showing it off to people to see their reactions..and as always I shall tell them after the reaction to help make sure everyone is on a level playing field as intended by the OP and Discoverer.

this creates more then a TINY edge this is huge, slooty and I are really good friends and we have both watched some of the best edenial mesmers sit there and drain us while we had the wrong weapon set out cause they were confused. this isnt just an edge this is huge.

Um, no, you can't. You hide your energy with a -5 Energy melee weapon and an equally obvious offhand (shield, scroll, etc.).

It does offer unnatural or unintended benefits. Multiple posts have covered this already.
And good e-denial players do watch for negative energy swaps, so don't think there's all this fuss because it's only a slight advantage-it's a very big advantage.
